Through the Looking Glass
For some time now I've been in love with dome glass jewelry and tiny bottles filled with brocade and other adorable and cute things, they look so magical, like from a fairy tale or from Alice stories.
source
I think the allure of the glass lies in the fact that it's fragile and also that it distorts the world when you look through it. Creating something unusual and mysterious.
Tiny bottles are even more amazing, especially when you fill them with something like liquid, tiny paper or some magic dust.
source
source
I was inspired by many photos I've seen, mainly on deviantart and jewelry on etsy to make wy own versions of glass jewelry. I used glass domes and tiny bottles to make the magic happen as well as brocade and micro balls in all the colors of rainbow.
First thing that I made were earrings, I call them 'love potions'.
After some time I wanted to make something new, and that's how I started to make dome glass miniature terrarium jewelry. My first ring was inspired by works of other sellers on etsy with the most common themes: woodland, pine cone and toadstools.
However, I still wanted to do something different, and that's when I realize that those glass domes remind me of snow globes I used to have in childhood. And so I decided to try to make snow globe rings, filled with water, brocade and something more... an Eiffel Tower and Big Ben. The snow globes usually can be bought as a souvenir with a city's best known architecture feature.
If you also happen to make glass jewelry or any other kind of art, please share it, I would love to see it!
Have a nice day,

Soundless
SO, I have my laptop back, it looks like brand new, but there's little tiny problem... they couldn't take the jack out. I guess I just have 'luck'. So this means I'm soundless until I figure something out or buy a new computer, which is sad as I can't live without music but I don't have money to buy a new computer, need to live it through somehow though.

breaking things
I have the biggest 'luck' or maybe it's rather an ability to make impossible things happen like this time I broke a jack from my speakers and a part of it reamined inside of my laptop. I don't know how I do this things but they happen to me quite often. The guys at apple center gave me a weird look when I showed them what happened. They have to open my laptop to take it out. However, there is always a good side to such stories when they happen to me, they will replace my laptop frame for free (it is all cracked as my mac has 4 years). So my computer will be brand new when I'll get it back, which will be on Tuesday... which is a long time and I will miss it with my whole heart (I love my laptop <3). I also have to replace my old batterry as it swelled (not sure if the word for this is correct).
I also broke a lamp the same day I stuck the jakc in the laptop. It was a day full of 'breaking' things. The funny fact is that the lamp is still working, just the lamp is not attached to the frame anymore and is hanging on a wire only. So I need to buy a new one I guess.
Lots of expenses this week, but what can you do?
Also I was supposed to move out from my parents and rent an apartment with friends but the owner of the apartment said that we no longer can live there so we need to find a new one.
So I hope that the universe is fair and something good is about to happen soon :)

A Perfect Match
After watching Drive(2011) I became a huge fan of Ryan Gosling only to discover more amazing movies that he took part in. I still have few to watch but I am sure they will be great. Gosling gets outstanding roles to play and he does it brilliantly, like in The United States of Leland(2003) or Blue Valentine(2010). I came to a conclusion that Ryan Gosling plus movies plus love are a perfect match after watching Lars and the Real Girl(2007).
The movie is unique, the story is amazing and Gosling is adorable, it's a must see!
I won't tell you the plot as I don't want to spoil you the pleasure but here's a trailer if you need one.
Have a nice day!

Be Amazing
Hey!
I know I haven't been here in a while (rather long one). I am not a blog person because I'm poor at writing... so I decided to change my blogging ways, my posts will be less about writing and more about photos and cool stuff of other people I've found on the net. Hopefully this will enable me to be more systematic with my blog and more enjoyable for you. So here's a beta version of what you can expect in the future:

Photo-shoot teaser
Hello world!
Few days ago I was in Poznań (a city in Poland, Europe). I spent a whole day on a photo-shoot set and I met a lot of interesting and talented people there. I had the opportunity to lent my jewelry for this photo session thanks to the wonderful photographer Agnieszka Werecha (aka magnesina) from TiAmoFoto
The main concept of the session was inspired by Stephen Johnson's psychological theory of Character Styles, but Agnieszka also managed to take some photos of mine (and others') jewelry. It was very hard and tiring day for everyone (the session took about 10h! and some of us had to spend some more in a train) but the outcome is fantastic and here is a proof of that:
More to come soon.

Happy Easter
Hello world!
I haven't written anything for quite a while (I am a lazy blogger) and I'd like to wish you Happy Easter! (I know I'm late but I had internet troubles for last couple days so I hope you'll understand that).
My Easter was quite a surprise, we had snow (in spring!)
Among other news, some of my earrings will be on a photo-shoot soon (I hope nothing will come in the way) and I'm very happy about that! :)))
I really can't wait when real spring will kick in because it's cold and I want to feel the sun on my face not the wind!
Here are Easter eggs which I made myself:
I made those with wax technique that one of my dearest friends taught me few years ago. Still, I can't make them as perfect as she does but they have they charm... I think :)
Oh, I was in Poznań recently on Pyrkon (one of the biggest conventions in Poland) and I've met Yoda!
Have a wonderful day!

Quoth the Raven Nevermore
Today (18.01.2012) one of the greatest writers ever would turn 203 years if still alive... yes, I am talking about the brilliant and outstanding Edgar Allan Poe.
Edgar A.Poe by mediagraffitistudio
Edgar Allan Poe is one of the best known American writers, he earned immortality through his tales of mystery and the macabre. His writings are often connected with mystery, death, madness, returning form the grave, ghost etc. He also wrote detective stories combined with fiction. However, he is best know for gothic stories such as "The Raven" with the most famous quote from his works "Quoth the raven nevermore"
Vintage Letter Tiles by thisgoodday
His other famous works include "The Fall of The House of Usher", "Black Cat", "The Tell-Tale Heart" and many, many more. His characters are often mad, die or have near death experiences. His works are gloomy and dark.
Book Purse by spoonfulofchocolate
One of my favorite stories by Poe is "The Oval Portrait". It's is a short but very thought over story, which includes many elements within just few pages. It includes the most prominent elements in Edgar Allan Poes works such as unreliable narrator, death, supernatural forces and twists, in this case in a shape of a oval frame and tale within a tale, those all elements are used to play with the reader. The portrait itself is a neatly presented element which plays an important role in the story. The tale has double meanings and, as in other Poe’s writings, we can almost never be sure which one is the true one or if any is. The irony of this particular tale leads the reader to a conclusion that the supernatural elements used here are just an illusion.

If you're interested in reading more about his works from a more academic point of view I really recommend a series of articles from Poe Studies (founded as Poe Newsletter in 1968, and issued as Poe Studies 1971-1985). You can easily access them as e-text versions of articles printed in selected volumes at The Edgar Allan Poe Society of Baltimore
You can also find jewelry in memory to Edgar Allan Poe in my shop at MageStudio

LEGO: not just a toy
In one of my first articles here I wrote about an awesome lego-photo-artist, I found out recently that there is more to explore in this field and I would like to take you on a trip to LEGOland and show you that LEGO is not only a toy and perhaps its primary purpose stands in a shadow right now as this simple toy became, may I say, an oldschool icon of popculture. It became a great material for art, jewelry and many more, thanks to its simplicity and colors.
Photo taken from here
To start our trip let's focus on history for a bit (but not too long, I don't want to bore you). What I've learnt on LEGO offcial site is that they are on the market almost 80 years (80 years! and still children consider this to be one of the greatest toys!) The name 'LEGO' is an abbreviation of the two Danish words "leg godt", meaning "play well"- that tells it all. ;)
LEGO logo made from LEGO by Bartosz Kurek
Recently I came across really interesting home adjustments (which made me to write this article in the first place) and as I began to look for more there seemed to be infinite amount of works I could find, so I am only presenting you a bit of what I found and I encourage you too look for more, maybe you will stumble upon something even better. I've read several articles on LEGO made into furniture and here you can see the most interesting in my opinion:
The LEGO kitchen by Parisian designers Simon Pillard and Philippe Rosetti:
LEGO bedroom by Nathan Sawaya:
LEGO as bricks by Jan Vormann:
However, you might find those as too much and not really practical as I am sure it would be uncomfortable to sleep in a LEGO bed... unless you are also made of LEGO :D
Here are some more useful objects made of LEGO:
LEGO lamp by Daniela Pavone:
LEGO camera by Cary Norton:
LEGO wall clock by Alba :
If that's not enough for you there are more everyday use stuff like these:
Star Wars LEGO USB by Pete Lever
Batman LEGO USB by SUPER SOCK
LEGO Journals by Millie
And of course you can find innumerable amount of jewelry and accessories:
Star Wars LEGO cufflinks by Gen X Boutique
Red Blocks LEGO cufflinks by Michelle
Green Blocks LEGO earrings by Alba
Heart LEGO necklace by cutehearts
And last but not least, I saved something for the ladies for the end of this artcile... something that all women love, yes, SHOES!
LEGO Stilettos by Finn Stone
I do not own any of the photos in the article, I found them on the internet and in other articles.

Happy New Year
I know it's already 2nd of January (I'm late with updates as always) but I hope you all had great New Year's Eve and that 2012 will be much better than 2011 :)
I had the best New Year's Eve ever! :D I was at my friends and we had some kind of cosplay party, the main theme was "conspiracy theory". I was dressed as Danna Scully :) We watched They Live (1988), great movie to begin the year of the end of the world.
Did you know that today is the Clean Off Your Desk Day?
My desk is clear... more or less ^^'
BTW, I made new dice jewelry :) I hope you'll like it:
